Lanyard ’22

By Stella, age 9

This year’s lanyard design was drawn by the Stella, 9. Stella says her main inspiration in drawing the designs came from foraging for leaves in the fall.

Stella helped gather leaves to use as a natural tannin source, primarily for mud dyeing (Bògòlanfini) and to naturally dye paper and cloth.

Stella’s drawings are vibrant, happy and a great representation of Fiber Arts Festival Omaha and a perfect visual reminder that our activities continue into the Fall.

Stella is a very attentive learner. In an adult + kid weaving class, not only did she learn to weave for the first time, she was the only person in class to NOT miss a warp and complete her tapestry. She also dry felts and loves crafting!

Thank you, Stella!
