At Bancroft, Saturday, August 6, 2022

Time: 5pm

Lecturer, La Sonya Luther has a passion for holistic sustainable-urban farming and for the serenity nature of English Angora rabbits and their beautiful fiber.

La Sonya operated a 11.86-acre farm in Marietta, IL with her husband and two daughters in 2013, raising a variety of animals. Today, she lives in Iowa and raises Angora rabbits.

Angora wool is one of the most insulating natural fibers in existence. The fibers from the Angora can be used to make gloves, hats, scarves, and socks. Pure angora can be worn in very cold climates like Nebraska. They’re also excellent in supporting trauma, healing, resilience and in promoting lost African skill sets.

During Fiber Arts Festival Omaha, La Sonya will talk about the many wonders and benefits of owning and loving Angora rabbits, including showcasing some of her cuddly balls of fur.
